Make room for two more wonderful Disney Princesses!
Frozen is a perfect combination of the best Disney has to offer: catchy show-stopping musical numbers, empowering heroines, stunning animated visuals and scene-stealing sidekicks. There are worthy messages and themes about everything from sisterly unconditional love and being true to yourself to not getting engaged to someone you literally just met. In addition, there are many fun-loving songs like “For the First Time in Forever,” “Let It Go,” “In Summer” and “Fixer Upper.” The catchy songs will have you singing their lyrics for what seems like forever. Musical theater stars Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel, Jonathan Groff, Santino Fontana and Josh Gad provide an awesome lineup of singers who make Frozen sound like it is already headed for Broadway.
Kristen Bell does not disappoint as the plucky and industrious Anna, who refuses to let her sister Elsa, played by Broadway actress Idina Menzel (best known as Elphaba from Wicked), believe she is a monster. Jonathan Groff is perfectly cast as Kristoff, an ice hunter who challenges and surprises Anna, and is, in turn, challenged and surprised by the brave princess. Their gradual romance is a refreshing counterpart to Anna and Hans’ whirlwind romance, without taking away from the central storyline about the lovely sisters discovering their powers.
Disney’s Frozen is the total package–the perfect combination of strong characters (Olaf the snowman is sure to be your favorite), a solid plot, cutting edge 3D animation and a soundtrack that will have you singing long after the movie is over.
