On October 2, University High School (UHS) played against Garden Grove High School and lost 14-35. Even though UHS was the first to score, it could not keep up with Garden Grove’s offense. UHS’ current record is 3-2.

Wes Jordan (Sr.) and Parker Dickey (Sr.) each scored one touchdown for UHS. Jordan scored in the first quarter and Dickey caught a pass from Jordan, scoring in the fourth quarter.

Key player Neil Boudreau (Jr.),who suffered a leg injury, said, “Garden Grove was a challenge but they were definitely beatable. We missed a few key opportunities that we should have capitalized on. Garden Grove took some cheap shots but we did good to keep our emotions under control. I hyperextended my leg during the game from punting and from a low hit late in the game. I will hopefully play next week against Woodbridge for our first game of League.”

UHS begins League play against Woodbridge (WHS) at the UHS stadium on Friday, October 10. Because WHS challenged UHS to pink out the stadium for the game, the first three hundred UHS students who arrive at the game will receive free pink Trojan Army shirts, thanks to the UHS Pink Ribbon Club. Shirts can also be purchased for $10.
