On October 14, the University High School (UHS) girls golf team defeated Northwood High School (NHS) 219-258 at the Oak Creek Golf Course, bringing up the Trojans’ ranking to second in league.

Mina Rhee (Jr.) played an exceptional game, shooting 39, the lowest score on the team, and helping lead the Trojans to victory. Samantha Cabunag (Fr.) also played impressively, shooting 43 against the Timberwolves. Cabunag said that the team “played pretty well, but still could have done better. Overall, we’re happy with how we’ve been playing this season.”

UHS, which is currently ranked second behind top-seeded Beckman High School, is looking to pull ahead by the end of season. The Trojans’ aim this year is to bring the entire team to California Interscholastic Federation (CIF).

The UHS golf team will play a crucial match against Irvine High School (IHS) at the Oak Creek Golf Course on Thursday, October 16. A victory over IHS will qualify the team for CIF.
