I did not know that my life would end like this, for this purpose.
I thought that people saw good things in me, which is why I was pampered.
I was raised with many others just like myself, and I was given all that I wanted.
I had a nice house, good food and plenty of room to run around.

I remember that one day they came to get me.
I had always thought that being chosen would be an honor, for many of my friends and family were selected in years before.

Suddenly, they took the most important things away from me:
my head to see, hear and speak,
my feathers to keep me warm,
my feet to walk, run and jump,
my blood to keep me alive.

Now, I see myself; I am looking from above and
everything feels different.
There are people surrounding me, and I am lying on a table.
I cannot move.
I am in a nice house with plenty of room to run around.
I am surrounded by good food.
I am now unwillingly pampering other people.
I did not know that my life would continue like this, for this purpose.
