The Other Side Of Me: a poem

Frantically, I run through the empty woods.

I hear its howling, deep and ferocious.

I have been hiding for years from the beast.

Concealing myself, cowering in fright,

I lurk quietly in the deep shadows,

Where no one will find me, no one will know.

But it is only a matter of time

Before the sinister beast catches up.

Before my past finally catches up.

Before my secrets, deep and dark, are out.
