UHS Boys Soccer opened its season on December 2 with a scoreless draw against Huntington. The upcoming season looks promising with this year’s new talent, and the team is looking to improve upon last year’s fourth place Pacific Coast League finish.
Captain Riley Duncan (Sr.) said, “I expected a great season out of this year’s team. We’re a young talented team with nothing short of a league title and a deep run into CIF is in store for us.”
Since the draw, the Trojans suffered a close 0-1 loss to Chino Hills. UHS bounced back by tying Pacifica 1-1 and then blowing out Sage Hill 3-0.
The Trojans aim to advance to the CIF playoffs this year, capitalizing off of the momentum from the blowout victory.
Co-captain Matt Surh (Sr.) said, “I love this year’s team and I can see us competing in CIF finals this year. We’ve been working hard and are hoping to capitalize on our strengths this year.”
