Girls Volleyball fell to Woodbridge 1-3 at the pink out GOW on October 2.

The team won the first set but fell short in the last three. “I think we brought the heat in the first game because we played together as a team.” Co-Captain Gelina Linsangan (Sr.) said.

The stands were nearly filled with Trojans decked out in pink.

“The huge crowd definitely helped bring a lot of energy to the team,” Coach Brandon Directo (Athletics Dept.) said. “It’s the home crowd so everyone is excited to watch their friends, and the girls are playing really hard because of that.”

However, the large crowds may have put pressure on the team to perform.

“After the first game we were like, ‘oh we won! So we have to win the second!’ And that’s kind of what got to our heads,” Co-Captain Klaire Thoman (Sr.) said. “We love it when people come out to support us, but I think it makes some younger players nervous because everything is so loud.”

“I think the team just needs to improve on being consistent,” Directo said. “We want to be playing at the best of our abilities all the time. No matter what team we’re playing, we make sure that we are doing the best we can.”

The next home match will be against Northwood on Tuesday October 10.
