Girls Varsity Volleyball lost their final game of the season 3-0 to Beckman on October 23. They ended their season with a 2-8 record.
Despite the loss, the team maintained their spirit. “During the game as a whole we had a very positive attitude and we never gave up,” Co-Captain Klaire Thoman (Sr.) said. “We had a lot of heart.”
The game was also Senior Night, an event that honors senior players and commemorates the end of their final season. “Senior night was sad but fun,” Alessia Guidotti (Sr.) said. “For the past four years I’ve watched other seniors go up and I think I had always dreaded the moment. But I was with some of my best friends and it was a really nice way to end the season.”
Thoman agreed with Guidotti that the end of the season was bittersweet. “I’ll really miss seeing some of the best people I know and working hard with them,” Thoman said. “I miss those girls so much.”
As the seniors concluded their time with volleyball, underclassmen reflected on the game and their goals for the next season. “I think we played really well as a team,” Lir Bartal (Fr.) said. “We communicated really well and supported each other. We need to improve on keeping our energy up the entire game and never giving up even if it’s hard.”
