In addition to these action packed, star studded movies, several musical adaptations are set to release this year. The movie musicals include Steven Spielberg’s “West Side Story,” which is the famous tale of the Sharks and the Jets in New York City, and comes out on December 18. Walt Disney’s “Mulan,” is not the animated musical we are all used to, but rather moves closer to the original Chinese source material of “The Ballad of Mulan.” This epic story of a daughter who takes her father’s place in way is set to release on March 27. Lin-Manuel Miranda’s “In the Heights.” This musical takes place in a Hispanic American neighborhood in NYC, and the soul filled, hip hop movie is coming out on June 26.
