On Thursday, September 18, the University High School (UHS) girls varsity tennis team defeated Tesoro High School 14-4. The Trojans remain undefeated in season so far with a 4-0 record.
Captain Yuki Asami (Sr.) said, “Tesoro High School pretty much stacked doubles. Two of their top singles players played doubles, so it was a little tough for our doubles players.” Despite the difficult competition, the Trojans rose to the occasion and played aggressively. Celine Gruaz (Sr.), Alyssa Rudin (Jr.), and Yuki Asami (Sr.) played singles and swept all three of their opponents.
The UHS Girls Tennis team’s next game is on Tuesday, September 23 against Los Alamitos.
