Events are often communicated in newspapers, displaying headlines concerning world events or domestic happenings. In order to be able to know more about the current events taking place in the Spanish world (or any Spanish speaking place for that matter), AP Spanish Literature is the class that answers the call.
Foreign languages are grueling subjects to learn. You are beginning to understand a culture, written language, and spoken language different than your own. However, as you continue to progress through your journey, the experience takes a turn, and the process is much more enjoyable. Advanced Placement Spanish Language is a specialization class solely focused on the development of the speaker’s mastery of grammatics, vocabulary, accent, and overall fluency.
Although counseling at University High School is often seen as basic help for class changes and course scheduling, it is one of the treasure troves on campus, as it gives students access to attentive ears and heartwarming support. One door down from the athletics office in the administration building, counselors are able to support students by discussing course scheduling for the upcoming school year, college advice, support for difficult circumstances, and fulfilling credits needed to graduate.
Created in Spring of 2020, Hope Squad is a student-led organization founded upon the idea of support and compassion for those struggling with difficult circumstances that may be causing them some mental health troubles.
Model United Nations, or MUN, is a program designed to simulate the international body, the United Nations. Students act as delegates to represent various nations in their respective committees. Student delegates are assigned one or two real-life international problems to research. Then, in committee, delegates debate and discuss various aspects of the topics with the goal of creating resolutions (in other words, solutions).
The Future Business Leaders of America, or FBLA, is a national organization designed to help high school students prepare for careers in business. Students participate in competitive events spanning a wide gamut of fields, topics, and structures, either individually or in a team. In addition to the academic competitions, FBLA conferences can also offer workshops on business careers, leadership development, and more.
