My name is Evan Wolf and I am a senior here at UHS. I have been involved in the Sword and Shield throughout high school, first as a contributing writer in my freshman and sophomore years, through my involvement in Beginning Journalism in my sophomore year, and as an Opinion Section Editor in my junior year. Now I am one of the S&S Managing Editors. The S&S gives us the ability to write for a variety of sections and cover topics that pique our interest. In addition, there are many opportunities to attain leadership positions and experience by becoming an editor. However, the best part of the Advanced Journalism class is taking a free period, where you have the opportunity to meet people with whom you might not otherwise share a class. The Sword and Shield really is one of the most underrated extracurriculars on campus because of the community that we have built and maintained. Once COVID-19 is no longer an issue, I look forward to future writers and editors being able to participate in our fun and tight-knit S&S community once again.
