UHS’ cross country team competed at the Mt. SAC (San Antonio College) Cross Country Invitational on Saturday, October 26. This meet is the nation’s largest cross country invitational and includes elementary/middle school, high school and community college divisions.
Overall, varsity boys placed 13th, junior varsity boys placed 25th, junior varsity girls placed 12th, sophomore boys placed 13th, sophomore girls placed 12th, and freshmen boys placed 12th. Spencer Sheen (Fr.) ran the fastest for UHS’ team with a time of 16:44 while Kyra Schmidt (Jr.) was the fastest UHS girl with a time of 20:35.
Andrea White (So.) placed 18th in sophomore girls, Mackhai Nguyen (So.) placed 25th in sophomore boys, and Janine Bryant (Fr.) placed 28th in freshmen girls.
The team’s next meet is a “Game of the Week (GOW)” at Mason Park on Thursday, October 31.
