Boys Basketball finished 3-2 in the Sunny Hills Tournament between November 12 through 16. They won their first game against Glenn with a score of 90-40 but lost the next two games against Troy and Esperanza with respective scores of 61-81 and 62-68. The team then went on to finish the tournament by winning the last two games against St. Margaret’s and Paramount 76-70 and 75-70.
Senior captain Brandon Liu was proud of his team’s performance at the tournament and was satisfied with their strategies.
“I’m happy about the game we won against Paramount. A big key to the game was our three-point shooting and offensive rebounding. Also, our full court press gave us a lot of offensive possessions for the game,” Liu said.
Junior Sam Aryan also felt encouraged with the team’s initial start to the season.
“It was a pretty fun tournament. We ended the tournament 3-2, so we still have things to work on, but so far we’re looking pretty good,” Aryan said.
Senior Musab Elashegh shared the same sentiments as his teammates.
“We really played hard, and we have some things we need to work on but I know we will have a great season,” Elashgh added.
The boys’ next game be against Sonora High School and will take place on Wednesday, November 28 at home. So far the team has a record of 3-2 through five games of the season.
