“Uni put up an amazing fight at the Northwood meet. We may have not won, but we still gave it our all. A lot of us pulled new best times, which is amazing,” Lindenberg said.
Lindenberg also placed second in the 100 Back with a time of 1:03.77.
Notably, freshman Annika Nie placed second in the 100 Free with a time of 57.35, and sophomore Chloe Johansson placed third in the 500 Free with her time of 5:55.72. In the 200 IM, University was represented by Weiland, freshman Jean Meyer, and sophomore Kristina Yan, taking third, fourth, and fifth in the race. University also placed second in both the 200 Free Relay and the 400 Free Relay.
“We went into the meet knowing that it would be a hard meet to win and that it would all be determined by the last relay, but by the ending of the meet as most of us were super tired, we just tried our best and pushed through,” Nie, a member of the 400 Free Relay team, said.
“We did better than I expected. At some point, we were two points behind Northwood. I saw a lot of improvements and I am very proud of [my team],” senior Yuuri Yokishawa said.
Girls Swim’s next meet will take place next Wednesday, March 27, at 3:00 against Portola High School.
