Girls Volleyball Sweeps Sage Hill
September 11, 2019
Girls Volleyball defeated Sage Hill in a 3-0 sweep on September 6 home non-conference match.
While delivering a devastating blow in only three matches, rounds 1 and 3 were very close with even a 2 point marginal difference for victory.
“We need to stay more consistent with applying pressure on an opposing team and blocking shots,” junior Karla Buye said.
The team’s success was largely due to their minimal mistakes throughout the game.
“I think our team did a really good job of finishing in 3 games and we need to make sure to keep the match fast, and not going to 5 games,” junior Samantha Wiedemann said.
Wiedemann successfully delivered 4 kills, helping close out the non-conference matchup. The team is looking forward to a successful season, and aiming for a CIF run.
“The team’s goals are to build stronger bonds on and off the court, try and get at least the second round in CIFs, and also to help each other improve of individual team skills,” junior Kiana Zaraghalami said.
Zaraghalami contributed 3 digs against Sage Hill, clutching the team multiple saves.
The team is looking to continue this momentum in their next game against San Clemente on September 10.
