The University High School Model United Nations (UHSMUN) attended the 21st Annual Tustin MUN Conference held on November 23 and 24. The Tustin MUN Conference is the largest conference of the year, with over 1500 students in attendance. At MUN Conferences, delegates have the opportunity to earn Commendation, Outstanding or Best Delegate awards in debates and Research Awards for position papers. Fourteen UHSMUN delegates earned research awards, and twenty-four delegates earned awards in debate. Novice delegate Joseph Hwang (Jr.) and advanced delegates Lilia Abecassis (Sr.), Thomas Chen (Jr.), Charlie Xu (Jr.) and Andre Luu (Sr.) won Best Delegate.
Ms. Katie Levensailor (Science Dept.), one of UHSMUN’s advisors, said, “I’m very confident that the group of delegates we have this year will continue to compete at the highest level.”
