The hiking options are endless, including Top of the World Park in Laguna or even Turtle Rock hiking spots if you want to stay closer to home. Bring along a camera to take memorable pictures of the breathtaking views.
When it is too cold to go outside, then a night in is your best option. Redbox, at supermarkets everywhere, offers movies to rent for $1 per night. With some popcorn and your favorite candies, this is an ideal cozy night in for under $10.
If you are not a movie fanatic, you can always bring out your inner child and get some old board games and have a competitive, cozy night at home with snacks as well. William Wang (Jr.) said,”Playing board games makes for a fun, relaxed date that is not overly romantic.”
As it is getting closer to the holiday season, there are more and more festive activities that are still affordable. A date night walking around Balboa Island, looking at the elaborate Christmas light displays, is another free and romantic idea. Celine Tran (Jr.) said, “I love doing this every year anyway, and it is a great idea to make it into a date.” To warm up on the beautiful walk, stop by Starbucks, and get some hot chocolate or yummy fall-flavored drinks such as pumpkin spice latte, gingerbread latte or even an eggnog latte.
For a festive and delicious way to bond, gingerbread house kits are sold at Target for around $10. This will definitely get you in the Christmas spirit and let you explore your creative side as well.
Although it may seem like a challenge to be tight on money, the upside of being on a budget is having the opportunity to explore unique date ideas.
