The University High School (UHS) girls basketball team recorded a victory against Corona Del Mar High School (CDM) last Friday, January 17, on their home court with a score of 60-33. The Trojans came out strong, outscoring CDM 23-7 in the first quarter.
Although CDM topped UHS 7-6 in the second quarter, the Trojans managed to regain their dominance and overpowered CDM 18-8 in the third quarter and 13-11 in the fourth. Friday’s game also marked UHS’s “Pack the Gym” night with many UHS students witnessing the victory.
Ava Hosseini (Jr.) said, “There is so much competition between the two schools and beating CDM was such a confidence booster for all of our school sports.”
Currently, Co-Captain Emily Reiland (Sr.) leads the team with 303 points totaled this season so far. Co-captain Dana Bossenmeyer (Sr.) follows close behind with 215 points this season.
