On Oct. 10, UHS Girls’ Golf had their senior night where they beat Laguna Hills, ending their season with an overall record of 6-8.
During the match, the Trojans fought hard in a shot-for-shot battle against the Hawks but managed to come out on top by just a few strokes to take the victory.
Sole senior and team captain Chloe Lin pointed out that the win was a team effort and highlighted the efforts of Stella Qu, who shot just one stroke over par during the match, a score that any golfer is bound to boast.
After her final match, Lin was honored with flowers and a poster with signed notes from all her teammates, as she reminisced on some of the unforgettable memories she had made in her past four years on the team.
“My favorite memory was our win against Sage Hills because it was a huge win for us,” Lin said. “It was a close match but everyone came together and played their best against a good opponent.”
Lin also commented on the team’s dynamic and chemistry, which was at an all-time high this year.
“We all bonded really well together,” Lin said. “Anytime we had a home match all the girls would show up to cheer each other on. We truly had something special.”
Unfortunately, the end of their season also marks the end of senior Chloe Lin’s golf career, but the memories she created and her impact on the team will not be forgotten.
“Chloe always supported our team with the sweetest smile and she’d always spread positive energy,” Co-Captain Ally Kim said. “She was there for us on and off the course and was a great captain and an even better friend.”
Lin hopes her positive energy as a captain will carry onto the next set of seniors as she concludes her golfing journey.
