The UHS wrestling team finished its season against Irvine on Wednesday, January 29th. They lost 45-22. Kian Ross (So.) won in the 106 weight class by a score of 12-3, while both Joseph Lai (Jr.) and captain Clay Hess (Sr.) won by pin in the 120 pound weight class, and 183 weight class, respectively. John Farah (Jr.) also had a pin at the heavyweight division.
Farah said, “It was a pretty good season, but the hardest part is that it’s over and we are going to miss one of the best classes we ever had in wrestling and their dedication to wrestling. Overall, it was fun wrestling and working hard.”
This was the last season meet for the wrestling team. They will compete on Saturday, February 8 for league finals at Irvine High School.
