As the academic year draws to a close and the warm embrace of summer beckons, UHS students are searching for employment opportunities to make the most of their vacation months. With aspirations ranging from gaining valuable work experience to earning extra cash, students are eagerly preparing to enter the workforce.
Some students are finding work to ensure the safety of their communities.
“I work as a lifeguard at the Woodbridge Village Association and I’ve been doing this year-round,” junior Eric Shin said.
Other students are working with the city of Irvine to give back to their communities. These roles involve organizing engaging activities and fostering a fun and safe environment for young children.
“I work for the City of Irvine as a camp leader, specifically with children,” senior Anika Dizon said.
The summer job search and application process is just beginning for other students.
“I’m applying for a few jobs around the area,” senior David Zhou said.
As final exams wrap up and graduation ceremonies loom, many students eagerly anticipate the transition from textbooks to timecards. With a mix of excitement and determination, these individuals are poised to make the most of their summer by diving into the world of work and seizing the opportunities that await them.
