The University High School (UHS) boys tennis team traveled to play San Marino High School on February 25. The team put in a strong performance, leading the Trojans to their first victory. Seniors Drew Dawson (Sr.) and Eric Tseng (Sr.) stepped up to take charge and lead the team to success this season. Dawson said, “I am super proud of all the guys on the team. It’s going to be a completely different season because we lost our top three players. Like our first match, matches will come down to three doubles in the last round. Each player’s performance will be crucial to the team’s success this season.”
Dawson has committed to play tennis next fall at University of Notre Dame, while Tseng will play for the University of California, San Diego. The upperclassmen players believe that this year’s team will be unstoppable due to the chemistry among the players. On February 27, UHS won the first home match against Santa Margarita High School (17-1). The Trojans have high hopes in extending their winning steak and clinching the CIF title.
