Once again, Apple stores nationwide are bombarded with long lines. The end of September marked a highly anticipated event: the release of the iPhone 5C and the iPhone 5S.The iPhone 5C comes in bright colors ranging from white to neon yellow, and above the steel reinforced frame is a hard plastic case. The phone also features the A6 Chip, which has increased the iPhone’s speed, graphics and, most importantly, the battery life. The battery now features 10 hours of LTE browsing time, 10 hours of talk time and 10 hours of video play. The new battery improvements mark a huge stepping-stone in Apple’s developments.
The maximum of 13 maximum LTE bands, more than any other smartphone, also allows users to surf the web or download documents at lighting speeds.
The improved iSight camera features an 8-megapixel camera which delivers stunning photo quality due to the newly designed lens. The 1080p HD video, with the new 3x zoom feature and face recognition for up to 10 faces, is also a huge step in the iPhone’s photographic ability.
One key difference between the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C is the material used in the frame. The iPhone 5S uses aluminum instead of plastic, and sapphire crystal encompasses the home button and camera. It also comes in three eloquent colors – gold, silver and space gray.
The iPhone 5S features a fingerprint sensor which replaces Apple’s trademark “slide to unlock” feature in the predecessors. The iPhone 5S also features an A7 chip, which is two times faster than the iPhone 5C’s A6 chip. The iPhone 5S is the first 64-bit smartphone in the world due to the A7 chip. The M7 coprocessor works along the A7 chip to save battery when the phone is inactive for a certain period of time, and the M7 efficiently measures physical activity for fitness apps. Both the iPhone 5C and 5S also come with the new iOS 7 interface which features more simplistic and futuristic looks and more multitasking features.
Many people believe that the iPhone 5S and 5C have shown substantial improvements and are worth buying. Tyler Jones (Sr.) said,” The iPhone really made great improvements from its previous models, and the new iOS 7 along with the new camera makes the iPhone really cool.” The iPhone 5S and 5C both doubled projected sales, an accomplishment Steve Jobs would surely be proud of.
