“If I were running ‘The View’, I’d fire Rosie O’Donnell. I mean, I’d look at her right in that fat, ugly face of hers, I’d say ‘Rosie, you’re fired.’”
“It’s freezing and snowing in New York – we need global warming!”
“The Mexican government is much smarter, much sharper, much more cunning. And they send the bad ones over because they don’t want to pay for them. They don’t want to take care of them.”
Any regular person who reads these quotes would probably come to the conclusion that the person who said these things is a crude, misinformed bigot. Few would have suspected before this election cycle that the person who made these statements is the Republican nominee for president.
Donald Trump, a real estate tycoon who made a successful career in land development, owns multiple hotels and casinos and has starred on his very own T.V. show called “The Apprentice” in which he mentors entrepreneurs. On June 16th, 2015, Donald Trump announced his campaign for presidency, campaigning on the basis of “Making America Great Again”. Since the start of his bid to presidency, Donald Trump has built his campaign on hate and fear. He has insulted war hero John McCain on multiple occasions, has brazenly insulted Fox News moderator Megyn Kelly, has called for the complete ban of Muslim travel to the United States, and more.
The fact that Donald Trump has made it this far into the election is an embarrassment to both our country and its citizens. It sends the message to the rest of the world that America is willing to elect a man who is selfish, inconsiderate, and a threat to world security as its leader.
Donald Trump lacks class, intelligence, and decent morality. He is a man who stated during an MSNBC interview that he “won’t rule out” using nuclear weapons in Europe. Furthermore, during an interview with George Stephanopoulos from ABC, he stated that he wanted to invade certain parts of the Middle East to take oil and quell the long term energy crisis that America faces. Quotes such as these effectively show how dangerous Trump really is, and how ready and willing he is to defy treaties and rules in order to satisfy his own agenda.
Furthermore, Trump lacks the temperament and rationale to become the President of the United States. He is a man who tweeted “Lyin’ Ted Cruz just used a picture of Melania from a G.Q. shoot in his ad. Be careful, Lyin’ Ted, or I will spill the beans on your wife!” He later went on to post an unflattering picture of Ted Cruz’s wife. This is the behavior expected out of a middle schooler, not a presidential nominee. It is unimaginable that a presidential election would turn into a series of bitter personal attacks, but Donald Trump made the election just that.
Not only that, but Donald Trump stands for everything America is not. Many people agree that America was built on the Constitution. Obviously America wants a president who upholds and follows the Constitution. Is Donald Trump a person who lives up to this standard? No. After the terrorist attacks in France, Donald Trump stated in an interview with Fox News that America should close mosques, and that “Nobody wants to say this and nobody wants to shut down religious institutions or anything, but you know, you understand it. A lot of people understand it. We’re going to have no choice.” By saying this, he quite literally advocated that the government violate freedom of religion. When asked about waterboarding, he said to an Ohio audience that “I like it a lot. I don’t think it’s tough enough.” Effectively, Donald Trump shows complete ignorance of the eighth amendment, which clearly states that “Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted.” Besides these two examples, Donald Trump has on multiple occasions has shown complete disregard for the Constitution and everything America stands for, yet America continues to support him.
If Donald Trump is president, America is not the only country that will be affected. Every single country on this planet will be affected. Why? Because the leader of the free world would be a childish racist who threatens the security of every single nation. His uncontrollable mouth and his Twitter charades can easily carry on to his presidency, and nothing can stop Donald Trump from constantly insulting other nations and raising global tensions through his childish antics. The students of University High School will be affected. Everyone will be affected. Every child and adult living in America will live under the constant fear of Donald Trump’s lack of self control and logic. The legacy he could leave behind is unimaginably horrible. The damage that Donald Trump could do to this country is unknown, but if there is one thing that is certain, it is the fact that his presidency is a risk we cannot take.
That fact that Donald Trump exists and calls himself a proud American tarnishes the reputation of true hard working Americans. He is nothing more but a privileged bigot who thinks he can defy everyone and everything to get his way. He has shown America that he is certainly not afraid to speak what he thinks, no matter how rude or thoughtless his statements are. He has no filter on things he says, and acts in childish ways that make him seem like a third grader. And this man has the chance of becoming our next president.
So does America really want a man who stands for everything this country is against? Hopefully, the answer is no.

This is bias and at uni I do not feel comfortable as a conservative libraterian. I feel pressure to change my opinions to fit the political correctness agenda of the democrats. I am a free thinker and do not watch CNN or Fox News because I believe they are bias and will control my opinion. This article should be removed from UNI because it is extremely against Donald Trump who students at UNI support. It makes many of us feel unwelcomed and afraid to speak our own options. Thank you.
