Girls Varsity Golf continued their now four-game winning streak against Northwood 187-226 last Tuesday, September 6. The 39-stroke margin of victory was their largest over Northwood in the last four years.
Dana Choi (So.) led the group, finishing the day on even par, the lowest total of the day. Choi said, “I think I was able to shoot the lowest score because of my practice habits and time I put into improving my game.”
Captain Celine Nie (Sr.) was happy with the performance. “Having this big win was really important for us to show everyone how strong we are.” Nie said, “Being on the team for four years, I definitely think that this is the best team we’ve had.”
Coach Kevin Kasper is expecting more victories as the season drives on. As the girls impressively placed third in last year’s CIF Team Divisional tournament, Kasper said, “[Our] goals for the year [include] winning league and taking first in CIF.”
UHS, ranked second in OC, now look towards two tough matches against the fifth ranked Beckman and top team CDM.
