Danica Silan (So.) and Gaby Morton (So.) did a musical cover of “Royals” by Lorde: http://goo.gl/eQhCFy. Silan said “We love the harmonies we can make with the song. It is a very interesting song with unique lyrics.” The two girls practiced several times to perfect the performance, but they believe that the flow of the song came naturally to them.
UHS musicians Silan and Morton are involved with the choir program at University High School (UHS) and have participated in various piano competitions over the years. Their passion for music is partly inspired by popular singers such as Lorde and Lana Del Rey.
Morton is a member of the the school’s acapella group Footnotes, which has allowed her to bond with other talented students. Similarly, Silan considers music to be a medium through which she can relate to other people. She believes that “Fine arts are [her] whole life and singing is something everyone can do together.”
