The Tree swayed, subservient
To the Wind.
Always giving in to demands
From figures of exceptional
Power.
Power corrupts,
And the Tree, suffering from trauma,
Abused the Soil,
Seeping the nutrients
And water
And minerals
From its very essence.
But what could the Soil do?
For it had no weapons to fight back with.
The Soil, ignorant to the power it possessed
Over the livelihood of the Tree,
Stayed.
