Varsity Girls Soccer won 2-0 against San Juan Hills on Thursday, December 15. This makes them receive another great victory against a strong team.
In the beginning of the first half, the Trojans were lacking on defense, however they were still able to prevent the opposition from scoring. As the game continued, the Trojans took the lead and made multiple attempts on the goal. Abby Sanders (So.) scored in the first half, and Paige Metayer (Jr.) scored another goal in the second half of the game.
“I [was] in a really good position against a strong team,” said Abby Sanders. “I think we had a good game today, and we showes a lot of composure.”
As league approaches, this game boosted the team’s confidence against stronger teams. “We expected that it [was] not going to be an easy game, but we dominated the game,” Girls Varsity Soccer Assistant Coach Andrew Casco (Athletic Dept.) said. “The way they have been training and working, [the team is] in the best condition for the rest of the league.”
Compared to last year, the Trojans only won 6 games in total, while this year they have already 6 games. The team has high hopes that they will succeed in league in this year.
Girls Varsity Soccer will have their next home game against Laguna Beach High School on Tuesday, January 3.
