Boys Varsity Lacrosse lost 3-10 against Esperanza High School in their pre-scrimmage game. Despite the loss, the team recognized their weaknesses, and are now able to improve before league begins.
“The opponent was at their best today,” Jeffrey Ly (Jr.) said “After this game, we can find where we are and work back together, so we can win the next game.”
In the first quarter, Isaiah Bonnafoux (Sr.) scored the first point. Taavi Taagepera (Sr.) scored a point in the second quarter with Nick Khamseh’s (Jr.) support. In the fourth quarter, Khamseh scored the final point.
Esperanza High School is considered one of the stronger lacrosse teams. However, this did not dissuade UHS from playing hard. “I think we did pretty good as a team,” Kahmseh said. “We will only get better in the future because this [was] one of the best teams in lacrosse since freshman year.”
Even though the score did not turn out as well as the players had anticipated, but this will only motivate the team to work harder.
The team will play against Vista Murrieta High School in their next home game on Monday, March 6.
