Boys Volleyball played against San Gabriel in CIF Playoffs and lost 1-3. The opportunity to be able to play in this CIF match was a feat unto itself for these boys; their hard work and dedication to the sport allowed them to qualify for CIF for the first time in more than a decade.
They put their all into the first set, winning with a score of 25-20. Soon, though, the San Gabriel Bulls tackled the Trojans and won the next three sets with scores of 25-20, 25-18, and 25-22. The boys tried to stay neck-and- neck throughout the game but fell short.
Even though season for this year is over, the team captains have big plans for next year’s season. Captain Christian Beltran (Jr.) said, “Preparation for next season has already begun, and we have all of our starters coming back so we’re going to work hard and focus not only to make CIF, but to make it far into the playoffs.”
For the seniors, the end of this season means goodbye. Defensive specialist Andrew Nguyen (Sr.) said, “I’m bittersweet to be completely honest. It’s been an amazing season, but I’m also happy that it’s come to an end so that I can go on with my senior life.”
The Boys Volleyball banquet will be held soon commemorating the team’s accomplishments.
