Girls Tennis moves on to final round of CIF

Girls tennis defeated defending CIF champions Campbell Hall High School (12-6) on Wednesday, November 14, to move on to the final round of the CIF Southern Section championship. The Trojans previously lost to Campbell Hall High School (10-8) in last year’s CIF championship match. “Celine Gruaz’s (Jr.) win against Campbell Hall’s Alexis Pariera helped us a lot,” said coach Mr. John Kessler (Social Science Dept). Gruaz defeated Campbell Hall’s best player Pariera 7-5.
This is the third year in a row that the Trojans have moved on to the final round of CIF. The Trojans recently lost to Peninsula High School (12-6) on October 16 but are determined to defeat them in the final round of the CIF division I championships. Kessler said, “We lost to them at the beginning of this season, but the girls are definitely ready to play them now.” The Trojans will play Peninsula High School at the Claremont Country Club on Friday, November 15 at 10:30 a.m.
There will be a Trojan Walk before school Friday, November 14, at 7:22 a.m. in front of the 1000’s building to cheer on tennis as they leave for the finals.
