Girls Golf finished first with a score of 382 in their CIF team match against 21 schools after the match had to be rescheduled due to a draw against Woodbridge in the last team game. Woodbridge finished second with a score of 384, and Beckman finished third with a score of 386. The top players were Alexis Kim who shot 70, Nodoka Honda who shot 71, and Dana Choi who shot 73.
Junior Alexis Kim, who did the best on the team, was satisfied with both her and her team’s performance.
“I’m proud of our team for doing well when it counted. We entered the tournament with not as many expectations but just wanting to have fun and put up our best scores. We did not feel as much pressure and so I think that is why we were able to play pretty relaxed and mentally focused,” Kim said.
Senior Nodoka Honda reflected on how she did compared to last year, despite the positive outcome of the match.
“Personally I scored well but I was not really happy with how I played because I could have done a lot better, and I did worse than last year so that was kind of disappointing, but I was proud of the team overall and how we placed,” Honda said.
Senior Dana Choi was also pleased with the team’s overall performance.
“The game went pretty well, but it could’ve gone a lot better since the course was super easy. I’m happy my teammates played well and that we were able to win again my last year playing high school golf,” Choi said.
Girls Golf (Alexis Kim and Nodoka Honda) will advance to the next round of CIF on October 31 and hopefully continue their momentum.
