Boys Tennis beat Dana Hills 16-2 on March 7, on their own home court. The team finished pre-season league with an undefeated record of 7-0, dominating the game from start to finish.
Freshman Conrad Brown attributed the victory to good team momentum and a winning mindset.
“Our team was actually winning easily, so Coach John Kessler was able to give some substitutions and give some playing time in rounds two and three. I was able to play singles where I won all three matches. I’m looking forward to playing in my first league match against the schools in Irvine,” Brown said.
Sophomore Rithvik Krishna also thought similarly with Conrad, racking up single wins in order to give the team an edge.
“The matches against me and my teammates were very tough, but at the end I was able win them all,” Krishna pointed out.
Despite the majority of the more experienced seniors being gone due to a field trip Senior Activity Day and injuries, junior Soomin Lee and the team as a whole were able to keep control of the matches.
“The game wasn’t the most interesting, it was a really easy win even with all our seniors gone at Six Flags. It was actually my first game back in a while because I had a hamstring injury. I only lost seven points in two sets. I’m looking forward to a better game on Tuesday,” Lee said.
Boys Tennis will have their first league season game on Tuesday, March 12, against Northwood.
