Splash: a poem

Splash.
The rain felt like tiny razor blade cuts.
Are we out of the drought?
The grass, vibrant and green,
Swayed in the gust.
Are we out of the drought?
Neighbors proceeded to wash
Their filth-ridden cars.
Are we out of the drought?
The mountains were blanketed in
White flakes of snow.
Are we out of the drought?

The drought is never over.
Californians are expected to ration
Sometimes with more than a passion.
