Boys Varsity Tennis lost 7-11 against Peninsula High School on March 2, bringing their overall season score to 2-1.
One of the notable games was by double partners Kai Soto-Dessen (Jr.) and Michael Rudin (So.), who lost to Peninsula in a close tie breaker during the first round.
“Our doubles team aren’t too well adjusted yet since ⅚ of our doubles starters didn’t start last year, and we’ve been mixing teams for the past few week to find teams that work well together,” Soto-Dessen said.
Many of the seniors in the main line-up from last year have graduated, leaving the younger players to fill up the spots they left behind. As Soto-Dessen said, many of them are fairly inexperienced to the pressure as a starting player on the Varsity level.
The team plans to practice harder and further improve their skills in preparation for the upcoming league matches.
“I think our team has potential, but needs to be well managed and the line up needs to be well constructed,” Rudin said.
The team will face Los Alamitos High School on Tuesday, March 2 in their next home match.
