The Girls Golf team won 181-212 against Northwood on Wednesday September 27. The team currently has a record of 6-1.
”I think we played well today and I’m proud of everyone.” Co-Captain Kristin Shea (Sr.) said. “I didn’t perform as well as I hoped to so I still know where I can improve in my game.”
Coach Kevin Kasper (Science Dept.) spoke highly of the current junior members in golf, most notably Nodoka Honda (Jr.). Kasper said, “[Nodoka] shot a 32 on par 36. She was a medalist, the star of the game.”
Another player who performed well was Dana Choi (Jr.) who shot an even score of 36. Choi played tournaments outside of school every week before leading up to this game and said those matches “really helped [her] mentally prepare to play school matches so [she] wouldn’t get nervous anymore.”
The team looks forward to making it to CIF as the defending league champions. “Our only loss this season was last Thursday, but we’re set to get revenge next week,” Kasper said. “We are always fighting for first.”
The next match will be at home against Woodbridge on Tuesday October 10.
