Girls Golf defeated Portola High School by a margin of 199-219 on September 16th. This marks their second consecutive league win.
“We played solidly this week, but are continuing to put a lot of work into practicing,” Co-Captain and senior Alexis Kim said. “We are doing more drills that help us practice our skills, but [we also] add a fun and competitive element to our practices.”
The team is looking forward to competing alongside each other and winning more games.
“I think the results of these past two league games are indicative of the season to come,” junior Claire Choi said. “I honestly can’t wait to see where our team goes this season and hopefully we can win not only our CIF Southern Section, but state as well.”
Consisting of just eleven players, the team has very good chemistry and is motivated to help each other succeed.
“Our team is pretty close-knit and I think the camaraderie has helped all of us do our best even under pressure,” Kim said.
The team’s next game is set to take place on September 26th against Woodbridge at the Rancho San Joaquin Golf Course.
