Girls Golf defeated Irvine High School by a margin of 200-236 on October 7th. They are currently undefeated and in first place in league with seven wins.
“The game went quite well,” Sophomore Millie Batra said. “I was playing pretty consistently up until the end so I was proud of my performance.”
Batra’s teammates concur and were proud of her performance.
“Millie did well at that match with her stellar iron shots that gave her birdie chances on the green,” Co-Captain and Senior Alexis Kim said.
Overall, the new players on Girls Golf seem to be adjusting well and the team looks forward to keep their undefeated streak all the way to CIF.
“I would say that our new players are learning really quickly and are getting to know Strawberry Farms well,” Kim said. “Our home course is tricky for players who do not know it well and it’s a good advantage for our team to play there regularly.”
The team’s next match is their GOW this upcoming Tuesday, October 15th, which is also the team’s Senior Night.
“We’re excited [for the GOW],” Kim said! “It will be bittersweet since it is the last home match of the season, and the last home match ever for Coco, Emily, and I.”
