In their fight against Tesero, the girl’s golf team ultimately came up short with only ten more strokes than Tesero. With the team’s high win to loss ratio over the past few years, the team is once again maintaining their ratio. As the season kicks off, the team was unfortunately facing a slight struggle.
“Although we lost, we tried our best. We had a discussion about what to improve and we are going to work extra on them,” senior Coco Yang said.
With their improvements underway, the girls can now focus more on their goals for the season.
“Our goals for the season [are] to come out on top of our league…[win] CIF finals, and taking our girls to a state championship,” Coach Gretchen Bock said.
With seniors Yang and Alexis Kim on the scene, those goals are within arm’s reach.
“[Seniors] Alexis Kim and Coco Yang are setting our pace consistently and… [they] stood out as the top players,” Coach Bock said.
With their minor setback behind them and promising players aiding the team, they look forward to their future and their game against Woodbridge at the Rancho San Joaquin Golf Course on September 26.
