Girls soccer starts 0-4 in preseason

Girls soccer played their first preseason game on Tuesday, December 3 against Huntington Beach High School. Although Denali Bollens (Jr.) was able to score a goal, the girls fell 5-1 to Huntington. Bollens said, “Scoring the first goal on Varsity was a surreal experience and being in our home stadium made it even better.”
On Thursday, December 5, the Trojans traveled to San Juan Hills where they fell to the Stallions 2-1. Sophia Ogunseitan (So.) scored her first goal of the season.
On Friday, December 6, the girls played their first game of a tournament against Norco High School. The Trojans lost 3-1, but Shantae Elam (Sr.) scored by heading the ball into the goal. On Saturday, December 7, they lost again to La Habra High School 3-0. The rest of the tournament was rained out.
Midfielder Tia Divok (Jr.) said, “We are still settling in and getting used to each other as a team. These losses are not killing our vibe; we will work hard and pull some Ws in league.”
Although they are off to a rocky start, soccer has high hopes for league. They play their next game on Tuesday, December 10 at Godinez High School.
