Alex Morgan, Olympic Gold medalist and co-captain of the United States Women’s National Team (USWNT), is famously known as the youngest player on the United States 2011 FIFA World Cup Roster. 
At the 2019 World Cup, Morgan tied the record of five goals in the opening match against Thailand ending the game with a score of 13-0. In the Semi-finals against England, she scored another goal, vital to the team’s success in taking home the  fourth World Cup title.
Although Morgan was ranked top paid Women’s player in 2015 by TIME, in 2016 she joined teammates in a wage discrimination case against US Soccer, claiming her salary was composed of many endorsements including NIKE, McDonalds, AT&T, and Coca-Cola. 
Morgan and several other players argued for equal pay as women are not typically paid the same amount for the same job as men in sports. 
Growing up, she was a multi-sport athlete and began playing soccer at the age of 14 years old. She played in college for UC Berkeley where she met her (now) husband, soccer player, Servando Carrasco. The two got married in 2014 and recently had a child earlier this year in May.
