Girls water polo beats Northwood, loses to Irvine

The University High School (UHS) girls water polo team played Irvine High School (IHS) and Northwood High School (NHS) last week in league play.
UHS lost to IHS on Thursday, January 23 by a score of 14-1. They managed to score one goal in the second quarter, but struggled on defense.
On Tuesday, January 21, UHS won against NHS 9-1, scoring four goals in each of the first two quarters and one in the last quarter to finish the game. Kyla Pickell (Jr.) and Yasmeen Sobaih (So.) led the team by scoring three goals each.
Co-captain Sara El Sherief (Sr.) said, “The game against Northwood was a smashing victory; most of us were able to score that game. It was a great way to begin the week!”
The team currently has a record of 1-4 in league and an overall record of 8-10. Their next game is the Game of the Week (GOW) against Beckman on Tuesday, February 4.
