On Thursday, October 23, the University High School (UHS) boys water polo team played a difficult away game against Beckman High School (BHS), and ultimately lost with a close score of 5-6.
The Trojans started off strong when Nick Injev (Sr.) scored the first shot of the game from the center of the pool. The match seemed promising, as UHS continued with its shooting streak, maintaining a higher score of 3-1 in the first half of the game.
However, as the boys reached the third quarter, the team’s defense collapsed, allowing BHS to sweep in on the offensive and score five goals on UHS. The Trojans made a comeback in the fourth quarter when Andy Rasla (Sr.) scored an impressive goal, bringing the score to 5-6.
Although UHS was unable to secure another goal, the team was proud of its performance. Oliver Ma (Sr.) said, “Everyone gave it their all and we almost made a comeback, but it was too little too late.”
