She was fun and energetic,
the one always laughing.
Growing up, we would share our fears,
our secrets, and all that we knew.
So many sleepless nights that we spent talking for hours at a time,
always consulting one another on what was best to do.
She was and will always be my partner in crime.
When my parents mentioned we would move away,
we cried and cried in each other’s arms.
I could not believe I would not be allowed to stay.
Our final goodbyes came far too quickly.
Now when I am sad, I think of her,
and I play in my mind all the good times
that I can still remember.
