Aaron Rodgers is a quarterback for the Green Bay Packers in the National Football League (NFL). Aaron Rodgers should be considered the best quarterback in the NFL right now. Broncos fans rave over how Peyton Manning has a 500-touchdown record, but Aaron Rodgers is the man when it comes to the quarterback position in the NFL. To me, Rodgers is one of the best quarterbacks because of his natural talent. His playing stance allows him to not take extra steps. He lines up on the field with his left knee bent and his right knee back, and he just has to take one step back to get into the pocket and look for open players. Additionally, he has a great arm and really gels well with his receivers and his running back, Eddie Lacy. Aaron Rodgers also skillfully makes play changes on the clock in a matter of few seconds to his receivers. Rodgers likes to run the ball to Lacy on many downs and Lacy lowers his helmet and gets first downs.
I also respect Aaron Rodgers for his mental toughness. He takes big hits and gets back up, smiles and stays relaxed throughout games under different and taxing conditions. Rodgers is used to playing in below-freezing weather, especially at Lambeau Field, a quite difficult task. This relaxed and focused mindset and mental toughness is what shapes Aaron Rodgers into the quarterback that he is. In this respect, Rodgers seems to top even Peyton Manning who, in comparison, does not seem to be as relaxed as Rodgers under rough conditions. What also makes Rodgers mentally tough is how responded to being put down and doubted coming out of high school. According to ESPN, most scouts that saw Rodgers doubted that he could play Division 1 football. Rodgers proved doubters wrong and worked harder than his peers. On top of those obstacles, he recently walked away with multiple injuries from a playoff win against the Dallas Cowboys. According to the New York Times, none of these injuries were visible to spectators, his opponents or his teammates because he covers them up so well and stays confident and relaxed.
It is because of his attitude and natural athleticism that I think that Aaron Rodgers is one of the best quarterbacks in today’s NFL.
