On Friday, February 6, the University High School (UHS) boys basketball team played against Corona Del Mar High School (CDM) and was defeated 47-60.
The Trojans got off to a slow start, getting outscored by the Sea Kings 16-7 in the first quarter. As the game progressed, though, the Trojans picked up momentum and cut the deficit to eight points in the fourth quarter. Kiron Dey (Jr.) recorded a double-double with seventeen points and ten rebounds; he also sunk two three-pointers. Joey Sfreddo (Sr.) also put up double figures with eleven points. Jake Terperning (Sr.) played impressively on the boards as usual, racking up four offensive rebounds and four defensive rebounds.
The Trojans are sitting at 1-7 in league so far and will be playing against Tuesday, February 10 against Northwood High School.
