On Thursday, February 11, the University High School (UHS) girls basketball team faced off against Irvine High School (IHS), ending its season with a dominating 51-23 win over the Vaqueros.
For seniors, the game was the final match of their high school careers. Reilly Chang (Sr.), Samantha Omiya (Sr.), Kala Warren (Sr.), Kiara Warren (Sr.), Christina Liao (Sr.) and Emily Zhong (Sr.) enjoyed their final seasons as Trojans and were excited to end on a high note with a victory against IHS. Zhong said, “It was a really tough season because we’ve gone through a lot of ups and downs. But we got through it as a team, and that’s all that matters.”
The Trojans ended league play with a 3-7 record and will not advance to CIF.
