Sidecar Doughnuts & Coffee has quickly become a popular place to grab doughnuts and a nice latte on the side. Sidecar uses simple recipes and only the finest ingredients possible to create fresh doughnuts daily from scratch.
Sidecar is conveniently located in Costa Mesa in a small, approachable store. Customers can enjoy watching the staff making various doughnuts in a wrap-around service counter and friends can easily pick up the doughnuts to savor the beautiful surrounding scenery and the beach.
Sidecar offers doughnuts as a part of its monthly flavors menu, daily flavors menu and gluten free and vegan menu. Popular doughnut flavors include Lavender Vanilla, an elegant lavender vanilla cake doughnut with homemade lavender glaze and viola flowers; Meyer Lemon, a lemon zest cake doughnut topped with a glaze of lemon juice, zest and sugar; Choc A Lot, a chocolate-raised doughnut topped with chocolate glaze and bourbon sugar, and many more. Each doughnut has an exquisite taste with a bold kick of flavor. Christine Bennet (Sr.) said, “Butter & Salt (a doughnut that sidecar offers) is a modern take of a classic glazed doughnut, just ten times better.”
Because the doughnuts are made with such quality and care, the doughnuts are relatively expensive and range from $2.75- $4.75 for each doughnut. The taste and experience of eating these unique doughnuts, however, compensates for the high price. Sydney Schneider (Sr.) said, “Sidecar doughnuts is something that everyone should experience; it’s so much fun picking out a doughnut and then being able to devour it.”
You can never go wrong with a nice warm latte or another hot drink to accompany the delightful doughnuts and quench your thirst. Breanna Holman (Sr.) was delighted with her first experience at Sidecar and said, “These doughnuts are definitely gourmet and unlike anything I have ever tasted before. The flavors really sit in your mouth even after you’re done eating them and I love the after-taste. I’ll be going back for more very soon with my family!”
