The boys tennis team returned from spring break and faced Irvine (IHS) on April 14. The team was on top of its form and defeated the visitors with a score of 15-3. Two days later, the team played Woodbridge (WHS) on April 16, winning with a score of 16-2.
Captain Konrad Kozlowski (Sr.) said, “The team has made a massive comeback from the beginning of the season. We pushed aside the bumps we faced earlier along and focused more on the league games. So far, we are 6-0 in league and we hope to go undefeated once again. It is not going to be an easy task as we have lost some crucial players recently (ex. Gage Brymer, Drew Dawson, Eric Tseng, Stefan Menichella). We have 4 more games left in league, and we hope to get the most out of them. We look forward to capturing another CIF title.”
Prior to spring break, the team faced Northwood (NHS) at home on April 2. Without any issues or hesitation, the team aced its way towards a win with a score of 14-4.
The team will travel to face Beckman (BHS) on Tuesday, April 21. With only 4 games left in league, the Trojans are expected to clinch a spot in CIF for the 10th consecutive time in UHS history. Riku Hashiyada (Sr.) said, “We have a great chance at winning CIF again. We have a great team this year, whom have established great chemistry together.
